Any Kilters In This Pipe Clan?

As an American whose entire genetic heritage comes from the cabbage / dill / sour cream side of Europe, kilts are not for me.

But rock on with your bad self, and don’t let anyone refer to that sporran as a purse.

If you ever wanted to kilt up, there are a lot of choices that do not track to any heritage. For example, I wear the Army tartan as a former service member. There are "just because" patterns that have no clan affiliation and you can rock on with your bad self if you wanted to. I have found out that Serial Kilting can be a lot like PAD and TAD.

I'm Irish with some Scots ancestry; nope, not wearing a kilt and definitely not a gold Irish one...

When my niece married a guy from Glasgow about half the male guests were wearing kilts (wedding was in Suffolk, England) much to the amusement of the locals.

A year later they went to a friends wedding in France, nephew in-law wearing his kilt. Caused quite a stir in small rural French community. Apparently the local police had to escort them across the road because the site of a man in a kilt was causing the biggest traffic jam the place had ever seen

Finally, I've been skiing in Austria with a friend and his two teenage boys; they all wore kilts whilst skiing

There’s a younger guy who wears a kilt daily at his job at a regional farm/building supply store - took me by surprise the first time - “no buddy, I’ll bend over and pick that up!”
