The last photo was August 15 when I got the Altinok back from Ryan Alden. The first 2 photo is then, the subsequent ones are today around 47 bowls later. This pipe has right around 200 bowls smoked.

Great photos of a beautiful pipe. The custom brindle stem adds a unique touch, and I'm sure adds to the smoking as well as visual enjoyment.
Yes. It started coloring after a handful of smokes.
I am Warren. There's nothing I can do to change the coloring process except to smoke it. And that's been easy, it smokes great. Even better since Ryan Alden tinkered with it a bit and put his stem on.Looks grand to my eye. It's doing its thing and I hope you are enjoying the process, slow as it is

This pipe is really colouring nicely and your Altinay just won't do it and it's not from lack of effort........Meer sure is a funny substance.

Now that smoking season has arrived once again Deep in the Heat, I mean Heart of Texas, I'm debating if I want to begin breaking this beauty in. Looks like your a wet smoker, it should age from the bottom of the bowl, keep the pipe up and wait, it takes years to get it right, I know from many years, I'm a wet smoker and ruined a few Meerschaums until I knew better, keep it tipped up a bit and you will get better results. 
There’s really no way to know how they’re going to color before you begin smoking them. I’m not sure what you mean by ruined a few meerschaums. They almost never color evenly.
None of them color the same way from pipe to pipe.
