A Greek Bard in Briar

It has been a while since I tried my hand at restoring an old briar lion so when an interesting figural of the Greek poet Homer (Homere as stamped on the pipe) came along, I thought I'd see what I could do. There is still work to do, but here's where I'm at in the process.

I have always been amazed that someone can do that kind of carving in briar.
