2012 NHRA FC Champ!

It's Official! Yesterday my personal friend of 28+ years clinched the 2012 NHRA Nitro Funny Car championship!
After coming back from and beating cancer in 2004 (that same thing that took his mother at age 47), to winning this, his life-long dream, he is one lucky guy.

Congrats to him on both victories.

One objection I have with racing today is they talk about drivers & sponsors. What kind of car does he drive? Old days it used to be that you were a fan of chevy's or if you were smarter, Fords!

He has much to celebrate.

the car is a "Dodge Challenger" but really those are just the decals on the front/rear bumper skins...not unlike NA$CAR or any other top-level racing series these are purpose built race cars. nothing about them is similar to the street version, at all.
Maple Grove is a great place, very beautiful up there in the rural rolling hills of PA.
