Dunhill Tobaccos Discontinued (At Least In The Netherlands And Perhaps Elsewhere

Probably as similar situation to here in the UK with regards to packaging we already have huge warnings and pictures on the back of the tins. I am lucky to get the vast majority of my tins from the US without the warnings however I don't expect that to last forever. I will certainly miss my...

    Removing Ash at mid bowl

This was something I thought about the other day. I do this but depends what pipe I'm smoking and what tobacco, if it improves the smoke I do it. Some tobacco just smokes all the way down I've found pipes with a cone shape bowl benefit more.

    Customs issues - Global

I believe here in UK you can import from US as long as value is below £15 for me this depends about the strength of the sterling vs the dollar as to being worth while or not. Even with the recent slump in pound sterling it is cheaper for me than buying in the uk plus I get to sample US brands

    an interesting watch

I Recently watched a TV show here in the UK which which shed light on a few things regarding tobacco addiction. The documentary was actually about vapeing but touched on tobacco use in general. The main observation was that the nicotine inhaled from the e cig was on its own not really addictive...

Do You Consider Yourself a Smoker?

I appreciate everyone's input didn't think it would start such a conversation but really interesting hearing how you all see your smoking habit/hobby. I personally think now, although I can go days or even a week without my pipe I am starting to miss the nicotine when I don't have it.

Do You Consider Yourself a Smoker?

Brian64 Spot on with my thinking. In the same sense that if someone says "hey do you lift" I would say no because I know what they mean by that. In actual fact I lift things on a daily basis but I don't regularly go to the gym to work out. If i feel the need to explain I will but most of the...

Do You Consider Yourself a Smoker?

Not quite the same thing as naming different drinks is like naming different types of tobacco not different methods of getting it into your body. I don't inhale my pipe so I'm taking the nicotine in through my mouth gums etc not my lungs. Its more like the difference between drinking alcohol or...

encouraging someone to become a pipe smoker

Certainly have tried to convert cigar smoking friends as that's how I got into it, as a cheaper alternative but not any non smokers.

Do You Consider Yourself a Smoker?

Yes I work in insurance I know it is classed as smoking for sure, as are E Cigs and any other form of Nicotine from an insurance point of view. Really referring more to how you see your selves. As the first thing people think if you say you smoke is Cigs. I agree smoking is smoking but as we all...

Do You Consider Yourself a Smoker?

I started smoking a pipe on and off in 2012, before this I smoked cigars but I have never been a cigarette smoker. I only really smoke at home. I often get asked do you smoke? (usually an offer to come outside for a cigarette) and my answer is no.Obviously this is just a practical answer as I...

Still smoking too hot after all this time - advice requested

This might not work for you but experiment with how you pack the pipe, for me it makes a big difference on both how hot the tobacco burns and also on the draw. I pack the tobacco very differently in different pipes and with different tobaccos. +1 on shaintiques comment my bowl rarely glows red...

    "Bargain" Olivewood Pipe

I'm certain he won't have swabbed out the meerschaum, for starters it wasn't a meerschaum lined pipe and secondly it doesn't wash out with a bit of whisky.

    Falcon

For what falcons cost I'm glad I have mine. Really easy to clean, gives a nice cool smoke though it's unlikely to be your favourite pipe they are decent. I agree with the above comments wipe it clean after use, doesn't seem to need much rest. Where the moisture gathers is obviously metal can't...

    Dagner Pipes

I think they are doing a lot for the pipe community and like them or not they are helping to change the stuffy outdated image of the hobby.

    Small 10 minute smoke pipe

I got a used army style no name pipe recently, It was smaller than I realised when buying it but have been using it for stronger slower burning stuff like plugs or ropes and I like it a lot. Obvious added bonus is generally they are going to be light so great for clenching.
