    Got the pipe today. Smokes like a Peterson, smoke is reasonably cool and a hint of “new”. However the bowl gets so hot I can’t touch it. We’re talking ridiculously hot to the touch. Will cake build lessen the outside heat? Is the briar possibly green causing this?

    I do a couple of bowls with coffee in the morning. A bowl or two before lunch, one or two in the afternoon. At cocktail time I take a couple hits of doob, some stiff drinks and chain smoke bowls until I’m totally blasted.

    My best smoker, a Savinelli 616 KS smooth. It screams “curmudgeon” at me, I am a poster boy curmudgeon. The pipe is a mild flavorful slice of heaven. It’s huge, deep wide bowl. Perfect for porch sitting with coffee or an adult beverage. I love it so much I just order another one only rusticated.

    I drink canned Margaritas sometimes while pipe smoking.. Age and tolerance issues cause me to be fond of sweet. The Margaritas have just enough sweet and alcohol bite to satisfy me at this stage of my life. In the mornings I drink black coffee with my mild smoking Peterson.
