    Deleted & Banned. Next?

Too bad. It was nice for a while but I really hate unnecessary egocentric threats from anyone.

    H&H Distinguished Penguin

I do enjoy complex English blends with shifting flavour notes such as you describe. Dang you, one more for the must try list. You gotta' love the name.

I will not cook Thanks Giving dinner

Yes, Chrisbah or Chrizbah, puts the Chriz back in Bah Humbug. Sometimes I'm too fond of making up words. Before you know it, it's part of my vocabulary and I forget it isn't in the dictionary. I'm a bit of a Grinch, but unlike a true Grinch, I still larf at myself on a regular basis.

    Anybody Roll?

I used to roll PA all the time. It is the only 'pipe tobacco' I've rolled, except for the occasional pouch of Drum.

so many different tobacco's to choose... help

Greetings, welcome to a great forum. I took up the pipe five months ago, partly to reduce my dependency on cigarettes. I have entirely given up the cigs and it has not be a difficult thing, much different than quitting cold turkey. I got no jones on my bones this time. I don't normally inhale...

    corn pipe

tltjlp, thanks for those links. I bought my first MM cob just out of cheapness but now I love the things. Some of my very best friends started life as ears of corn.

    Taste change

It is hard to imagine that the cold from last spring is the culprit, especially if that tobacco is the only notable difference you are experiencing. Sometimes, one's taste preferences just alter. Try leaving it completely off the roster for a few months. It my be like rediscovered love when...

I will not cook Thanks Giving dinner

I think you've made a wise choice. I'm the cook at my house. We live in a co-op and I usually end up doing a lot of cooking for the co-op TG and later for the Christmas dinner. One year I bailed and took my sweetie out for Chrizbah. The Chinese folks running it tried hard but did not...

Nevermind Crazy Buyers on eBay, Some Sellers Need a Rocket ....

I have seen the same problem getting anything shipped from the States to Canada. A ten dollar item, weighing a couple of ozs, requiring twenty four dollars for postage??? Nuts to that. However, my sweetie, who is wise in the ways of Ebay, is giving me lessons. I refuse to pay more in shipping...

What beers are you drinking with your pipe?

No, a name like Suntory even I would remember. I will find out later tonight when he gets off work but I do believe it was Saporro, it sounds right.

Best smelling VA??? could use some serious help

This may be one of those things that is too subjective to really nail down. My neightbour's girl friend Loves the smell of my English blends, they remind her of her first entry to Bombay. Others run and hide when I light up the same stuff. I love re-entering a room that still smells of my best...

What beers are you drinking with your pipe?

Yes, I think it was Sapporo. It is a bit different from the French brandies I'm used to but it was excellent.

What beers are you drinking with your pipe?

I like sweet Virginias with bitter beer. Recently had some Samuel Adams lager with its strong hop character and SG's Best Brown flake. 'Twas heaven in a bowl and tankard for the likes of me. Slight OT but last night I had some brandy that a friend just brought back from Japan. I only remember...

    Cuban tobacco

I've been thinking of the same thing, partly because the cigars just last too long for me to get through a good one in one sitting, unless it's a wander about town all day kind of day.

    corn pipe

Yes, I believe Missouri Meerschaum is the only company in America still making corn cob pipes. They use cobs developed for them by the University of Missouri that are large and have a denser pith than most varieties of corn. There is another thread on here, I believe titled Ebay corn cobs that...

    Pipe Rotation...Be honest

I used to know a lot of old farmers who all had one pipe that they smoked every day. However, those were some pretty rancid pipes. Hazmat stuff, or so it seemed. After Christmas I shall have six cobs and two briars. I do plan to give the briars some rest to insure longevity but I doubt that I...

    Cuban tobacco

Yes, one way that you know you have entered Canada from the States is that every block has a store advertising its Cuban cigars. :) Pipe tobacco you really have to search for but Cuban cigars are everywhere, I mean every where, in any city that gets a lot of American tourists.

    corn pipe

One beauty of the corn cob is that you don't have to break it in. With a bit of care it can last a long time, much longer than seems reasonable. BUT, as stated by the wiser fellows above, don't smoke it too hot. In deed, you are wide to buy American when getting a cob. The Chinese knock offs...

    Atlanta Rejoices Today!

That was an odd thing I noticed in Atlanta, the laws could change when you cross a street. Literally, when you crossed the street into another county, in the middle of the city.

    Baccy food and drink pairings

I don't drink much these days but I'm planning to pair my favorite English blend with a good Scotch and Best Brown Flake with good Port, over the holiday season. I don't know from experience but I suspect best brown with a pinch of 1792 will pair well with Port.
