Go to Your Local B&Ms, Folks

We used to have a small B&M here in town that I liked to visit every now and then for my various sundries. They carried a wide assortment of bulk tobacco as well as 15 - 20 different tinned blends that they regularly carried. They also made it a habit of ordering a couple of tins of new blends...

    Warning Labels & Tin Art

My all-time favorite warning label was on a tin of Peterson's Irish Oak. I had stopped at the local B&M. They didn't sell much tinned tobacco and I could often find tins that where one to two years old. I turned the tin over and on the bottom was a sticker that said, "WARNING: This product...

    Summer Heat Ruining My Smokes

I'd almost be willing to trade you guys. Yesterday was the first day in almost three weeks to break 70. It's been raining so much that the whole area is under flood watch and last week we lost a tree in the front yard not because of the wind, but because it floated up out of the mud!!! All the...

    The Transformation

I love that pipe and the new stem really adds to the look. Dang it! Now I want one. I'll have to add it to my pipe bucket list....along with the blowfish I'm looking for.

    Movies with Pipe Smoking Characters

I watched Dead Poets Society the other evening. A couple of the professors were pipe smokers as well as several of the kids.

    Flowers from Pipestud!

Strangely enough, I've never been tempted to do that

    Flowers from Pipestud!

Could be  I bought a Winslow Crown in a very similar shape four months ago.

    Flowers from Pipestud!

No. While fairly narrow, the bowl is pretty deep. That bowl of ODF lasted 90 minutes and I didn't quite finish it

    Flowers from Pipestud!

Well, ok, not really. But I did just receive this fantastic Eric Andersen "tulip" from one of his auctions  I'm currently enjoying some 2013 Old Dark Fired in it. I can't believe how smoothly it smokes! I think I have a new favorite pipe :puffy:

    Cracker Jacks

They make "Deluxe" versions now, with different nuts like almonds or pecans, some versions are drizzled in chocolate.

    TAD Therapy

You could always try my approach - lose your job and spend three years bouncing around low paying jobs trying to find something that pays a half-way decent salary. When you can't afford even one tin, you don't open the websites, which solves the TAD problem. Of course, this method tends to be a...

    R.I.P. Margot Kidder

I live in the same town she did - Livingston, MT - so she was a neighbor of sorts. I ran into her a few times here in town. She was very down to earth - used to come into the Albertson's where I worked for fried chicken every so often and took her dog to the local dog park pretty regularly...

Has the McClelland eBay Madness Ended?

No it hasn't ended. We've just accepted it as the new normal and quit caring

    Lovat & Blowfish

I absolutely love that blowfish. I've bid on a few of them on ebay over the last several months but so far the pipe gods have not accepted my humble offerings. I might just have to save my pennies and buy a brand new one.

Spring? What Is This Thing You Speak Of?

We're having a beautiful spring up in Montana - 52 and sunny today. It's supposed to be 56 tomorrow. And then, of course snow on Monday. So a wonderful spring it is...all two days of it
