Watcha Gonna Buy With Your Holiday Money?

Bunch of tobacco samples, maybe a tin or two, a cheap half-finished pipe lit for DIY and knock-around duty. I've wasted enough money already...

Christmas greetings & smokes. From your part of the world.

Russian Orthodox Christians and Soviet atheists (both groups somewhat represented by yours truly) wish you all a Merry Christmas. :D Hope the new year will be less brutal. I am off into the last week before alcohol-and-fireworks-fuelled madness that is Russian New Year. Wish me luck.

    Pipe Smoking Toons!

cobguy, that's probably the best picture of "Ratty" I've ever seen. :worship:

How many times a day do you smoke?

Office job and family at home, so a pipe every other day, if I manage to find a place.

    Election Over: Smoke a Pipe

One guy on Twitter summed it all up for me. Hope it won't offend anyone. And I do hope that the next four years won't cause the people in the US more trouble than the election campaign.

    Pipe Smoking Toons!

Here are two stills from an old Soviet cartoon "Nu, pogodi!" (loosely translated as "Just You Wait!"). That particular episode took place of a cruise boat, so the Wolf, usually a cigarette smoker, switched into a sailor's outfit and took a badass pipe instead. Recently this cartoon was cut...

    Pipe Smoking Toons!

tobaccojoe, Bilbo from the 1977 animated film looks cool, but it's not a still from the film itself, I'm afraid. In the film he smokes a porcelain pipe. He seems to have quite a collection.

    First Damned Snow

I love the snow, although winter in the big city is a joke (a very sad, damp joke drenched in chemicals). I was born in February, that's probably the reason I love winter. Pity I won't be able to smoke outside when the temperature drops below zero. I'm too afraid for my pipes, even the cobs...

    Preventing PAD

mihailo, I do my drilling, gluing, polishing and many other horrible things in the kitchen, when my wife and kids are asleep. Or sometimes not (actual quote from yesterday: "Honey, can you please keep the girl off me for a second, while I jam this red-hot wire through the pipe shank?! Thanks!")...

    I am a Little Down

ophiuchus, it was designed in the 80-s, strange shapes were in vogue back then. It's kinda comfortable actually, but at the moment mine needs new electronics and complete re-wiring.

    I am a Little Down

Well, I can sympathize with that weird choice, myself being a guy who can impulse-buy an O'Hagen Shark (pictured), receive it broken to pieces en route and then have it repaired for the sum probably exceeding the purchase price. (By the way, it's not finished yet.) It somehow helps with the...

    Preventing PAD

There is no actual "cure for PAD", I'm afraid. The temptation is just too strong (for me at least). You can cheat though. 1. Buy one thing at a time. No buying until the last package arrives. 2. Buy inexpensive pipes. Or save up and buy high-end pipes, but less often. 3. Buy projects...
