So gents I may have stumbled onto something that I am wondering, if others of you already figured out. I grabbed a pipe and reached for my full size Zippo with a butane soft flame insert. Instead I saw a Slim model that I recently found in a box of junk, and grabbed it.

I’ve never used a Slim model for a pipe. Shockingly, it is rather almost perfect. The smaller windguard on the Slim allows it to fit perfectly into the smoking chamber when the level recedes below the top. I know, it probably isn’t terribly practical. However, I kinda like it though.

What are your thoughts or experiences?

FYI, the lighter is from 1971 and is from the ship I served on when in the Navy back in the 90’s.
