Dupont could take some lessons from Zippo. While I do love my Dupont Lighters the company has zero insterest in supporting users. While Im not suprised they wouldnt even sell me a screw to fix my lighter. I had to fabricate one

I just feel sorry for all those poor zippo lighters trashed in movies every time the hero throws his zippo into the leaking fuel to blow up the bad guys boat/car/plane :)

I bet Zippo provides the lighters. Its a great subtle product placement.

If I am being honest, the only zippos that are any good are the ones made in Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada from 1949-2002. They're indestructible. The American made ones, yikes.

I bought one with the pipe insert, but found them too short and fiddly. Wish they had one the length of a zippo with some kind of a sealed fuel tank so it didn't evaporate.

P.S. Don't fill yours with Kerosene. The flint won't light it and it then smokes like a freight train if you do get it lit. LOL

Though I prefer the pipe insert, recently I've been lighting my pipe with a standard chimney Zippo, and found it actually works pretty well. Reading through a few Zippo threads gave me the urge to buy a few more so I have more Zippos on the way. A classic "street brass" Zippo with regular chimney, is just under $11 U.S. on Amazon as I write this. It's hard to come by useful products made in the U.S.A. with a lifetime warranty for that kind of money these days.

One thing I discovered this winter as an outdoor smoker is when the temperature drops to freezing and below, my Zippos are the only lighters that work with any reliability.
