I get to be Zen for about one day every year, and then the clutter returns with a vengeance.
Same here. Had to change carpets. The intricate patterns was a daily nuisance.
Some clutter is hard to avoid though, I couldn't live in a home without books.
Whoever set up this has a great eye for creating effect.
The green pillows and plants sort of jumps out from the wallpaper.
As an overly obsessed collector of various crap I would say I like an organized clutter. The tricky part is doing it though as I’m finding out.
I’m with organized clutter. I like a place to be “lived in” not Spartan and definitely not like I’m “showing” a house.

I think the first. But I quite like rustic. Wood burner. Table and chair. And good book.
Ah, false dichotomy, how I missed thee! I guess given the choices in the OP, I'll take the minimalist. It looks like much less work to add in the necessary amount of clutter in my preferred flavor.
Except that there doesn't appear to be a single chair that is remotely comfortable...
This first room feels very serene and a good space for meditation.

Wildly, exhaustively creative, energetic, and exhausting. The room needs to be tranqed.
