I actually reconsidered getting one to use when traveling, as bringing a can of Zippo fuel in hand-carry is verboten, and a fill won't last me the entire time. I noticed though that unlike the Zippo insert, the flame only comes out the one side. I guess I could get used to using it with my right hand (otherwise the lid would be toward me) but probably would feel awkward for awhile after all these years. Glad to know it's still working after 2 months, as I heard the Tbirds don't always.
Back in college I had a neat butane pipe lighter. It was cylindrical, had a tamper on the other end, and a pen-style pocket clip that doubled as the means of turning on/off the fuel. It was also ambidextrous, which I appreciated. I don't recall who made it, but it worked flawlessly (except outdoors). Of course that would be the one I lost
