You young folks less than half my age are making me feel really old..Seriously though it's really great to know that there's another generation of pipe smokers out there to keep it going..Enjoy your youth. You will get old much sooner than you want to.

with out trying to make things worse, I often find myself feeling old... let me explain though. First off, high school football and 14 years of soccer ( I was a keeper), reeked hell on my body, whether it is from two bad wrist from catching myself from diving or snapping a football, or the random pain or soreness associated with an 18inch rod in my leg.
But the part that really catches me off guard sometimes is the fact that I am still in school. I started my six year of college this fall, and there is difference in the mentality I have with life than that of the 18 y/o freshman I work with (I do on campus catering).
So while I am still plenty young, I have already experienced those moments of "crap, I feel old"

I was just thinking the same thing recently...seems like only yesterday I was a gangly 17 year old starting university, and now I wake to discover I am 35!!!
my mum, who was 35 when she had me, recently told me that when she was holding me just after I was born she thought "well, I'm 35 now, and by the time he's 35, I'll be 70!...but that won't be for a long time yet"...and of course now I am 35 and she is 70....
CARPE DIEM, folks!!!! or as we say in Scotland "YOU'RE A LONG TIME DEAD!"....(in other words, make the most of every day as much as you can)

Funny thing is ,I'll be celebrating my 25th anniversary of being 18 on 11/11/11 and there are probably more than a few 18 yr olds that are more experienced pipe smokers than myself.. But it sure is fun learning .

Nikko I can identify with that. When I started college I was the second oldest student on campus. (Yes, I lived in the dorm.) Two things happened that brought my age difference home to me. 1st) I was given a faculty parking pass. (that was cool) And 2nd, after returning to school following Spring Break, I walked into math class first thing on that Monday morning, and I was surrounded by "children".

But, what was really cool, with those two exceptions I felt and was treated like I was in my late teens like everyone else.
But, in English 231 & 232 "English Literature" (Dr. Majure), I thought on a much deeper level than all but one or two of the other students. I loved that class... We really had some knock-down drag-out arguments over the material.
:D I still remember the mid-term for 231...

Using the voices of Homer, Sophocles, Michel de Montaigne, and St. Augustine; discuss and decide if man has control over his own destiny. Eight page minimum.

You mean I am not 9 years old ? And those nice looking women are 60 years old?

No wonder they do not ask for I D when buying beer.

Aging is only good for Whiskey and wine.

Damn
