They are lane Ltd experiments. They are sitting on a comment sheet. I don't know when they were made but it was well before 2005. 8O

Just made my way over to Pipe Stud's site and noticed that he had some very similar plugs for sale on there... now sold out of course.

I'm glad to see the fine folks here had a great year with pipes. Good job Al on the collection!!!
I've thinned my collection and focused on a few Petersons, Dunhills, my Meers, but especially my Ryan Aldens. With the Christmas addition of a Reverse Calabash Morta, and of course the 8-day Matched Set, my Alden collection is at 22 pipes made by him. I love them all.
Have a great New Year folks. I'll try to hang around more.

Al, that kid is way too cute to be related to you. Admit it, you hired her for the photo session.
Great looking pipes guys, it was a hell of a year for you all.

I wish I had a TARDIS. Being able to smoke my tins of Escudo once they have more than 90 years of age sounds enticing.

Title typo digression aside, 2017 was a fantastic year for me. I introduced a few friends to pipe smoking, I finished stocking up on my list of must-try blends accross various genres, discovered a fantastic little B&M near my home and finally came out of the cellar (I hashed out an agreement with the wife on my smoking and stopped caring about judgemental people).

Plans for 2018 are mainly to begin building up the deep cellar with the blends I liked and reviving my moribund pipe club with the converts I made and a few smokers I met this year.

I'm very happy you guys also had a great piping 2017!

I had a good 2017 for pipes; picked up a Sav Ginger Rogers "Bing" style pipe, a 2017 Peterson's St. Patrick's Day 150 special, a 2001 Peterson's St. Patrick's Day XL21 (estate) and for me, the ultimate - a Birthyear Dunhill Shell Briar from 1959.
2018 will be a little thinner as I will be paying for my face (2 implants) which due to healing processes will keep from from smoking as much. I'll still ogle pipes mind you, just won't be able to do as much.
Happy New Year everyone!

I added just two pipes that I like this year... One is a Julius Vesz Tan Blast... Circle 6 with real amber stem... and the other is a nice Savinelli Autograph (second). I'll Post pics below.
Overall, it was a year of sour grapes for me as I learned more about what I don't want or don't like. I learned that I don't care for latakia. I learned that I don't end up liking most of the pipes I buy.
I emerge from 2017 with a better idea of what I like and more sense in terms of how to spend my money.
It would have been a better pipe year if I could have found a nice Paul Perri pipe. It was my #1 (pipe) goal this year and I failed it. All year I searched for one and was never able to acquire it. Marty says he has several more to list, but it's been almost 6 months and he hasn't listed a new one.

Well, 2017 has been a pretty active year for me. I bought 6 Castellos, 5 family era Sasienis, a Regina Scarlatta, 2 commissions from Jesse Jones, a Dr Grabow ( my first), a Kaywoodie ( my first), and an old, unsmoked Jellings. I have sold a bunch of pipes as well. My number of pipes decreased as the quality increased. So, goals achieved. I have discovered several new favorite tobacco blends. I am starting 2018 off right by joining a newly formed pipe club (This Sunday).
