Dan’s Salty Dogs in an ALi cutty meerschaum. It’s a perfect combo for my particular style of smoking.
It is one of only two pipes I’ve dedicated to a particular blend. The other being HU’s Jerry Saronno that I smoke exclusively in a cob so as not to ghost any briars, however it seems again a perfect combination for my tastes.

Mac Baren Club Blend is always better for me in a cob, no clue why.

Other than that, I generally prefer flakes in a narrower bowl (~.75 inches ID), but that's more about how they burn for me when folded and stuffed than the flavor produced. If it's already collapsed into a broken flake or even shake, than it doesn't really matter.

I definitely treat pipes differently depending on how delecate they are, how comfortable they are to clench, how expensive they were, &c., &c..

So different blends suit the way I approach different pipes better or worse.

& if I march the way I smoke the pipe to how the tobacco will best smoke that lowers the effect of the biggest variable (which is definitely me)!
