Here's a question: Which category of pipes do you smoke the most? And why? Do you smoke the best

ones on your rack most regularly? Your mid-range pipes? You lower-level pipes?
I intend to smoke around the rack pretty evenly, so I'll work along through my best, and mid-level,

and basket pipes and cobs, and around again, but not necessarily in categorical order. I bounce from

one set to the other. I guess I sometimes save my high-end (for me) pipes, so they might get smoked

slightly less. If I'm going on a trip, I tend to take mid-level, something I could bear to lose that wouldn't

spoil the trip for me. Though some of the mid-level and cobs are favorites too. I guess I save the

high end pipes, which rationally I think is a mistake. Make hay while the sun shines.

For me, mostly cobs. I have nice pipes but I'm mostly a cheap pipe smoker...

I dont have any high end pipes, but do have several medium grade in my collection. Icureently I have 4 main tobaccos in my rotation, CH, FMC, Escudo and Black Shag. Black Shag being my most smoked blend, I smoke my cobs most as I get the most flavour in a cob with Black Shag. Im starting to designate pipes to different tobacco types so its more the baccy selection vs a pipe selection for me

My meers are getting the love this month. It varies, sometimes I concentrate on my Petes other times I tend to concentrate on my English,Italian or Americans. I have no particular reason why this happens It just does.

Cobs, Tsuge Tankard and a Rock Cob every day, the other pipes in the racks are rotated as whim deems and weather conditions, i.e. I would never smoke one of my meers in the cold nor take a walk in the woods with one of my best's I am clumsy with my medical condition so I must be in a stable position generally sitting to enjoy a good pipe.

Behind my desk is a rack with 10 Petersons (4 System, 2 Donegal Rocky, 1 Flame Grain, 1 Dublin & 2 Arans.) Those are my daily "rotation" pipes.
But, or course, PAD being what it is, in a large Peterson ashtray ON my desk, are my new acquisitions and a couple of pipes "borrowed" from other pipe racks around the house (I think there are four racks besides the one at my desk, but I may have lost track of one or two behind some poles of books.
And then there's a large Comoy's ashtray sitting next to my recliner in the living room. Last I looked, it seemed to be specializing in Eastern European pipes - an oakwood from Poland, and a briar and pearwood from Ukraine.
Oh, yeah, and I just found another Peterson - a small Killarney - in my shirt pocket.
So you can see that I'm REAL organized when it comes to rotating my pipes - NOT!

I have 21 American artisan pipes and one Castello that are my best pipes and I smoke them more than any others in my rack. I love the way they smoke so I want the best smoking experience as much as possible. I have a pet peeve about a pipe that needs a pipe cleaner to soak up excess moisture and since all of those mentioned never need a cleaner, I smoke them the most.

I've got a herd of 65 pipes. I try and give each the attention they deserve. Almost all of them have a fine trimmed cake are are excellent smokers. My main set are 7 Dunhills, 7 Ashstons and about 30 Comoys. These see the most action. The remainder are Radices, Parks, Negoitas, Tinskys and Downies. I go through about four pipes a day, couple bowls in each. Pound a month. Aside from work & family, my pipes and tobacco are my life. No other interests save for books, tea and walking.

Mostly the cobs. I tend to reserve the pipe I bought at the B&M for smoking at the B&M, and I'm still debating on whether to smoke English/Latakias in the churchwarden... but the cobs give me some flexibility and a lot of choices.

At this point in my pipe life I mostly smoke my MM Ozark Mountain pipes. The few briars I have I make sure get a good rest between smokes.
