I’ve started bingeing Boston Legal. I liked it 20 years ago and I think I like it even more now. I’m pretty sure I’m getting a steady flow of endorphins while watching it. Northern Exposure makes me feel the same way.
My favorite contemporary show is Severance on Apple. I’ve never seen or read about anything like it. Totally mind blowing. Terrific acting as well.
Season 1 of Severance was pretty amazing. I don't see how the writers can top season 1.

I love TTZ and the Outer Limits, they hold up well. I tried watching Kolchak, loved it when it first ran, I didn't find it watchable now. Too hokey. The wife loves Starsky & Hutch, I said pass, equally unwatchable. She said it was based on Dirty Harry. I said that was when movies were great and tv not so much.
I loved Kolchak when I saw it in the late 70s or early 80s on late night TV. It’s a different experience now watching it with my son, and enjoying it for the writing, cheesy effects, and the guest stars, like Erik Estrada. On our last Friday before we moved out of the Chicago area, we had to walk down to see the building they used as exterior shots of the INS office.

Top 3, in no particular order.

The Office UK
Deadwood
Treme
We're watching Treme for the first time. Now that we've lived outside of New Orleans for one year, it has a bigger impact on us (particularly since the 20th anniversary of Katrina is this week). We now get all the reference points and watching some of the Katrina specials this week, that filled in some of the gaps and tied in Season 2 story lines.
