lostandfound, you stole my thunder! My preference is Eric's 4th Generation 1957, followed by 1897. I'm also partial to Peter's Nougat. :puffy:

1) Luxury Bulls Eye Flake - Full and satisfying, absolute favorite!

2) Luxury Navy Flake - Great on a summer day.

3) Luxury Twist Flake - Mild enough for all day.
All come in bulk at a terrific price.

Puffdoggie, right with you on 1957 and 1897. I've had 1882, also and really liked it. PS bulks, Balkan Supreme and English Oriental Supreme, are very good.

Another +1 for Bullseye, Luxury Navy, and Luxury twist flakes.
Balkan Supreme is an easy going English that burns well and seems "balanced".

Nougat (North Sea) was an old favorite aro, but lately I especially enjoy Luxury Navy Flake.

I consider Balkan Supreme my everyday "house" tobacco these days. It seems to smoke well in just every pipe I put it in. Not being too expensive like some of the other balkans, I can enjoy it casually without seeing dollar bills go up in smoke.

I'll take any of Erik's creations first (manufactured by...Mac Baren? I think so...), then STG's Peter Stokkebye Balkan Supreme. I use PS 701 Virginia for some of my blends, and I like it.
I need to explore the line more!

For awhile before the new Balkan Sobranie came out and the furor over it Balkan Supreme was considered one of the good replacements for it.

25$ a pound roughly vs. 50$ for a 50 grm tin on ebay, I know which one I'd go with.

Peter Stokkebye Proper English, Luxury Bullseye Flake, and Luxury Navy Flake are my every day, all day smokes. I buy them in 5lb bags from Pipes and Cigars for less that $23.50/lb and jar them up in big mason jars. Best bang for the buck in my opinion. What is especially nice about the flakes is that they are a nice looooong smoke, and I rarely need a relight with them.

I've recently been smoking the Stokkebye "Luxury Trifecta." If I had to pick one out of the three, I would easily say the Bullseye Flake is the best. Navy Flake is good, but I get a little bored with it towards the end of the bowl, and I've only had 2 bowls of the Twist Flake, and so far I'm still on the fence on if I'll buy more. I'm going to pick up a lb. of each LBF and LNF, to have on hand because you can't beat the price and hopefully some age may change things with the LNF. I'll work my way through the couple of ounces of the LTF to see things turn around.
If I had to rank them in order of preference it would be as follows:
1. Luxury Bullseye Flake

2. Luxury Navy Flake

3. Luxury Twist Flake.
I've had the English Oriental Supreme, which I found good, not stellar, but good. I'm still wanting to try the Proper English, and Blakan Supreme to see how they are. All in all it's great tobacco for the price point.

Luxury Bullseye Flake, especially when it has had a couple years on it.
I tried the Navy and Twist but they were a no go. The Balkan Supreme was really good as well, though it never made it into my cellar.

For a while I would have said Bullseye Flake. But for the past year or so I've found myself gravitating more towards Navy Flake. I smoke both regularly, and both improve with age. But Navy Flake really comes alive for me and is one of my top five VaPers as well as overall blends.
