I’ve even been told that the credit card situation for US buyers has been fixed for Altinay. Altinay does have a wonderful pipe selection
I believe they are having a better time with it, including the PayTR option. Smaller/local banks and credit unions may still cause problems. I purchased one about 10 days ago, and I had to call my bank and get them to allow it.

Admittedly, my bank is terrible overall. Their attitude was that they would never allow me to purchase from sellers outside the U.S., and are unable/unwilling to make any permanent change or note to my account to avoid this in the future. For my safety, lol.

My credit card was compromised after purchasing from Altinay. This does not mean it was from this purchase, but it is a coincidence.

I’ve owned many over the years. Bought and sold more than 100. The ones I‘ve kept and regularly smoke are mostly Baki and Bekler. Remember, each meerschaum is unique, even by the same carver or dealer. I’ve also had very good experiences with Altinok and IMP.

Does anyone know why some have the screw stem vs the friction fit? The screw stem would be my only criticism of the Altinay.

Seems like most makers use a push pull tenon nowadays. Altinay supposedly says in their site if it's a screw in tenon or not.

@shane1 thank you for your criticism.
We use screw tenon system on only our affordable entry-level small pipes. In fact, the way it works is the same as the push pull system system. But sure briar style push pull sytem that we use in our middle and upper segment pipes is more useful and durable.

Thank you sir for your reply. You are correct and I am mistaken. It screws in and then just pulls off. I get confused as I get older.

I only know one. Ahmet. He's a good guy when he's not drinking. Jolly, likable, will give you the shirt off his back. When he drinks though, anything can happen. Usually starts with him doing burnouts in his 69 Mustang and leads to picking fights in bars, which he always loses. You'd think at just 5'2" 120 pounds, you can't go around challenging 6'4" 250lbs guys to a fight. Anyways, he's my favorite.

@shane1 I thought you were talking about our screw push pull system.
Attached pipe has our 9mm filtered tenon sytem which we no longer use as a screwed sytem. Now we fix this part to the shank without the narrow screw part on the head.

By the way your pipe has 9mm screwed push pull system.
And you should remove the stem with pulling while rotating it clockwise.(which is the recommended way even for pipes with a briar style push pull system pipes due to drilling direction)
