My wife only asks that I wash my face before bed so I don't wake up with that stale smoke smell and that I don't smoke in the bedroom. Other than that the world is mine. I even host my pipe club in the house. She loves playing the hostess.
She hasn't purchased me anything, but that's because I'm so picky with my pipes and tobaccos. Though she does support me going to Vegas and Chicago each year. Love her.

Guys i am loving the stories and memories shared. Keep them coming! I find that hobbies and interests are easier to dive into when the spouse is on board! For example i dedicate my evenings at least 4 days a week to jiu-jitsu teaching and learning. She understands that its my interest to be a competitor, so she decided to buy a kimono and join in. I dont expect her to smoke with me, but i love that she is accepting and at least helpful with me delving into it. @mso489 That is awesome, you are a lucky guy to have such an awesome woman! My wife treats me the same!
Keep em coming boys!

Nice, that is awesome to have her training along side you, although i could see it maybe getting old or in the way after a while. The gym is my escape and sanctuary from the rest of the world and i never bring sand to the beach in that regard. Still, i would love to get my girl in a gi with me, as i believe the positive would definitely outweigh the negative. I'm there teaching 4 nights a week at least between bjj and muay thai and get my training in after that most of the time. She does crossfit and coaches JV and middle school volleyball, so we are definitely on the same level with our after work lives/activities.
As far as her smoking pipes/cigars with me though, i think i'd rather keep it the way it is, lol.

My wife is not real thrilled that I am starting to smoke pipes after all these years of not smoking. I don't forsee her buying me any gift certificates from a pipe and tobacco store..............

Mine gets pissed when I buy pipes! But, she says the money I spent on the pipe should have been spent on tobacco( I have her convinced that the "Tobaccolypse" is coming soon) ...

I'm currently single. I sometimes tell other single men: get your toys now, then don't get attached to any woman who doesn't accept them. Likewise, for your personal style. Be who and what you want to be, then make your stand and accept that some women will avoid you because of it. Don't bargain with your identity to get love. Of course, that means you may have to get along for quite some time without love. Be strong, and be of good cheer. She's out there, and worth the wait.

My wife is very supportive of my pipe smoking. She gave me the pouch I use (plus a few accessories), actually encourages me to go have a smoke when she sees I'm feeling guilty about it (which often happens when I think my schedule is too full to spend the hour it usually takes me to smoke a bowl), and sometimes tries something herself, when she likes the smell of what I'm smoking.
And the other day she asked me to put up a wishlist for tobacco I want, which I took as a very good sign of gifts I might receive in the future ;)

Awesome! My wife fully embraces my pipe life style and is always getting me tins and pipes and recently built me a cellar rack out of an old wine rack! Gotta love em.

Went through two other wives. This one accepts me just the way I am. Wouldn't have it any other way. Life's too short to live miserably, trying to conform to someone else's wishes. No wife is worth that.

I had a pretty tolerant wife and she bought me a pipe for two Christmas seasons. She had also bought me multiple tins of tobacco when we stopped by the local B&M. We split almost a year ago and she and my daughter are in Texas now (I'm in Indy) but just this last week we have begun to reconcile and make changes for each other. She told me she won't complain of my smoking the pipe as long as I give up cigs and that I could have a room to myself to smoke in when it was not propitious to do so outside. She said I just need to get a good air filter and keep the door shut most of the time...and window open on nice days. I was lucky now that I look back in that regard and if all works out I'll have my little girl back and a new and improved wife...she will get other changes in a new and improved husband of course as well. Time will tell.

My wife is incredible. In the past 5 year's I've taken over half the living room with my collection and she gives a little more each time I outgrow my space.I have my mini workshop setup in the corner our bedroom and last Christmas she surprises me with new pipes & tobacco I'm used to estates that I restore

,not to mention that she has stated working due to my restrictions and not being able to work any longer. An amazing woman.

I'm very fortunate that my wife enjoys my pipe smoking and is very supportive of this hobby of mine. She will on many occasions sit and have a pipe with me. She is welcome to any of my pipes and tobacco at any time but I recently bought her a pipe of her own to enjoy. It's a Savinelli Clark's Favorite with a long swirling stem. She also bought me a beautiful pipe for Christmas last year and helped me pick out a nice old cabinet for my pipes and leaf. I will post a pic of the cabinet later when I get home from work. I am truly lucky to have her, or should I say lucky that she will have me for many many reasons. :puffy:

My wife hates that I enjoy cigars and pipes; however, she doesn't mind the pipes as much as the cigars but still prefers I don't do either. I just don't do it around her. I'll enjoy a smoke late at night after she's in bed or during the day while she's at work and before I head into work. She's never once bought me anything pipe/cigar related; however she has allowed me to buy certain pipes at times. As long as I don't go over board I stay out of the dog house. ;)

Same as a lot of other guys, my wife tolerates my pipe smoking. I have my own smoking den so we don't clash over smoking in the house. She has expressed dismay over the number of pipes in my collection but they are also out in the den so that's not an issue.
BTW, when I do smoke outside my neighbor makes a point of coming over because she likes the smell so much. I was hoping her husband would take the hint and take up the hobby (I offered to help) but he is resistant.

Awesome fellas thank you for the stories! For those less fortunate I am sorry! I agree with @maxx

My partner either likes or tolerates my smoking, maybe sometimes a bit of each. When the breeze is blowing through the LR the right way, I can safely smoke on the couch near the sliding door way, and watch the Warriors or Giants.
She also is fine with my espresso machine sitting on "her" island in the kitchen. A year ago it was a temporary spot for it. I am very fortunate.

My wife is my best friend, truly. I can get a little obsessive or "focused" with my interests, especially pipes. Having no one close by to talk to about pipes she has put up with me for the last few years of my never ending pipe talk.
I never know exactly how much she listens as she mainly just smiles and nods but a few months back she was nice enough to take the day off and we went to my first pipe meeting, The Seattle Pipe Club. Everyone there was very friendly and to my amazement there is my wife talking about sandblasting and see rock finishes like a pro. I could not of been prouder.
