No idea who you are referring to so I can offer no argument.
Ah, clever!?Oliver Cromwell was a hot button political guy in the seventeenth century. I was offering a spicy political take that, luckily, no one cares about anymore.
I flipping hate Cromwell and all his crackpot Puritanical weirdness. I’m SO triggered now, but I’m IBTL.Oliver Cromwell was a hot button political guy in the seventeenth century. I was offering a spicy political take that, luckily, no one cares about anymore.
I love talking Politics, but “almost” no one talks politics. I can’t stand to talk in an echo room. I’ve been known to throw a few zingers here, but you know, this is a place where we can escape. No need for all of the stress of politics here. Great Post. Happy Thanksgiving!I met up with a fellow forum member yesterday at a cigar bar, and as cigar bars usually go, there was talk of sports and politics. Which was totally fine, because it’s a cigar bar. But I then turned to the fellow forum member and said to him: “You know what I like about the Pipes Magazine forums? No one talks about politics.” He agreed with me.
Now, I’ve only been lurking this forum since Summer 2018, but I cannot recall one political thread or a thread that devolved into a political thread. We mostly just stick to pipes and tobacco, which, in an era where everything is politicized, is super refreshing.
I go on other forums and somehow everything is brought back to politics. I am thinking about leaving a certain hockey forum because of this. It is seriously a religion to some people. This forum has instead been a haven for me, where I can get away from news (which even my iPhone and Samsung TV now push on me) and the cares of the day. Thank you to everyone, and may everyone have a blessed Thanksgiving.
It does happen occasionally but, the mods are very good (thankfully) at shutting it down. Let's keep it to the real subject at hand.

Bless the mods for keeping the threads on topic and away from tendentious politics.
Thankfully, politics that’s so old that no one cares is just called history.

I tried it out years ago but have since developed an affinity to the handlebar. It was especially popular with veterans of the first world war.
And again.........I rest my case. This is awesome as hell!I like the fact the OP in any given thread starts the convo with with an honest question or statement of which for the first 50 or so reply’s will be in line then........from nowhere it rapidly evolves into millennials vs baby boomers or whatever. This is awesome and educational all at the same time! Oh, and happy Thanksgiving to all of you stateside members?. Sorry, couldn’t find a green bean casserole emoji
