No cellar here. Just a cloself filled with tobacco, in my mancave. Yes, I call it my mancave, because I'm a cool hipster.

I thought a cellar was where you stored root vegetables and jars of preserves for sustenance. So I suppose using it to store tobacco is apropos, after all my tobacco provides me sustenance. My cave is wherever my ass is sitting at the time. :D

"Cellar" should be reserved for the lucky bastards with an entire room dedicated to smoke and its associated hardware and accoutrements. Unless you can say "gentleman, let us retire to the cellar for a drink and a smoke", you have no cellar. I have no cellar, only shelves of tobacco, but I aspire. I look forward to one day saying, I live in a 2BR/1Cellar house...
I just think that we shouldn't make pipe smoking that complicated. Let's just call stocking up pipe tobacco X, a room for smoking pipe Y, so X+Y=Z, Z would be the man cave or cellar in your words. I don't have any cellar and I am not planning to start one in the near future. I just have a shelf/closet where I keep all my tobacco products (pipes, tobacco, lighters, etc.) and that closet is in a room where I used to smoke my pipe. Now, the whole apartment is a smoke free zone because of the newborn baby. I have no X, no Y, no Z. Just some tobacco waiting to be smoked somewhere out of the house.

Words confer meaning, and help others understand just what the hell we're talking about.
This is one of the reasons which subcultures, like our pipe smoking clique, evolve their own terminology. I see no reason to change cellar to anything else... but if enough of our community agree with Nate, then my agreeing won't matter. Because our culture will change the language.
For my own space, in my own home, I prefer the word retreat. This is what I do in that space, and it is a combination cellar, library, office, study, library, den, workshop, fishroom... Also, I'm not cool enough to be a Hipster and use the term man-cave; although I have a much bigger/better beard than Peck.

I have an unfinished basement. Which is where I store and smoke my tobacco in addition to playing pool, poker, darts and ping pong. Although I have to say my poker table serves as my pipe prep area. lol
So does that qualify as a cellar?

To my mind "cellar" is where things are stored, "library" is where a man of experience in the world goes when he is at home. And of course smoking is available in the latter -- what do you think we are, savages?

At first I decided I'd call my accumulation of tobaccos my selection, but that sounds kind of pedantic, so I guess I'll just go with stash. Cellar when I'm feeling really pompous or prank prone.

its hard to just come up with a word when i am so used to cellar, but I like fitzy idea of having a pool table and a place where you can play cards and shoot darts the best I can come with its my hang out spot or retreat, or just to get on everyone's nerves how about the mancation spot.
