Well, you, Ken and I might be among the only folks knowing what a "pukka" anything is! (More or less: "genuine and top drawer", no?)
And in the top photo and the last one the bowl looks like a 'real' sandblast; the stems not so much. Would the TYRO, then, be a rustication and not a blast?

Funny you should say that John, immediately after reading Ken's last post I dug out the bulldog and looked it over again. Sure enough, the actual bowl does appear to be a pukka sandblast but the shank looks to be very contrived or artificial so perhaps it is a bit of both.
Interesting that this was done and something I had missed until it was pointed out to me.
