Well... I got quickly tired of Sharpe. Was fun for a handful of episodes. I felt a huge void in my British TV viewing after recently finishing Pie in the Sky which I give 4 rotten British teeth out of 5 on the British Smiles TV Grading Scale but luckily I just landed on this great show Jonathan Creek, has anyone else here seen it? The premise sounded a bit wonky (a disheveled dude who develops technically impressive magic tricks while also helping solve impossible to solve crimes) but the show is actually well written and entertaining and the has great chemistry between the two leads (no- not too dudes!).

at the end of the day a lot of how good a show is comes down to just how well it's done.

Ok, I was at a bit of a loss since finishing Pie in the Sky but landed on another great British detective show, Inspector Lynley. It has the charm, character development and thoughtfulness of Morse but is a bit more sordid like newer series such as Shetland and Broadchurch. The woman who plays the female detective is really a fantastic actress. I'm only a couple episodes in but I give this 4 Golden Buckets (pronounced Bouquet) out of 5.
