Here in the States, Spam sells a variety that's 25% less sodium. It still tastes pretty salty to me so that's what I eat.

I've heard that Spam is big in South Korea. Are there Korean brands that are any good?
I agree, even the low sodium is salty as hell.

As for a Korean equivalent, not really, you can't beat the original SPAM sodium levels with any counterfeit! ;)

I believe there's one or two brands which offer a decent luncheon meat, which I have eaten in the past. As for the Brand, not sure, guessing it be made by Sunbo....
I guess it became a thing here after the Korean War, since it was cheap and plentiful.

It was just real thin slices of pressed beef (I assume the leftovers in the processing plant). The package title was Buddig’s beef. My mother diced it up, put it in with water, powdered milk and flour and called it chipped beef and put it on your piece of toast. My father called it SOS ( sh## on a shingle).
