I haven't seen any of this yet, but saw the same thing where writers just spiralled down the porcelain bowl in Andy Griffith, My Three Sons, The West Wing, NYPD Blue or is it Blues (whatever!)....Why can't they make these damn things better and better? Do they start hiring cheaper writers as time goes by or do the creative juices just dry up?
IMO, the show had nowhere to go in the opinion of the creators but getting more over the top - same characters and less weird stuff would have still made a solid series and plenty of interest without getting borderline cartoonish with storylines. Beth Dutton way up there on my list of entertaining TV characters over the years.

And Andy Griffith was fine until Don Knotts left - before that one of the cleverest written shows ever!!! Can’t comment on whether My Three Sons ever had a good episode - the whole presentation of that show just put me off even as a youngster.

1. Beth Dutton must be good. You're not the first to mention her here. Thanks for chiming in.

2. Yep--when Knotts left, Andy's character grew more surly and impatient. Not worth watching after that IMO

3. I too didn't like My 3 Sons when young, but th first 3 episodes are worth it now. Plus Fred/Steve sure hits his pipes regularly at work, home in the family room and upstairs in his bedroom and office. My kind of character. Fred M. liked his pipes and they weren't just props I'm guessing! Plus William Frawley shines as Bub O'Casey, a whole different and often really funny actor and far better than on the Lucy show. He and Fred worked great together, like Barney and Andy. Supporting actors must be worth their weight in gold to shows.

Good action/drama, adult contemporary soap opera. Think “Sons of Anarchy for capitalist conservative gun bearing males that appreciate a firm handshake”.
And yes, I resemble that remark-it’s not a joke.
Breath of fresh American air in a sea of woke bs coming out of Hollywierd, good old FAFO values (**** around and find out).

Women that don’t get off on cuckolding their men, and don’t get offended by a tip of the hat accompanied by a cordial “ma’am” or “miss” tend to like it.

Take my view for what you paid for it, I’m just a guy that gets stuff done, enjoys my food best when it’s had my hands on it from the field to the fork, and really doesn’t care if I’m socially accepted or not.
YMMV

Harumph!

I watched it then have not watched the last season (or two?) It was entertaining but went off the rails into the realm of the absurd. Beth was a good character but just got more and more ridiculous as time went on. It made me lose interest.
