When he picks up another block and decides this time he's going to carve a penis coming out of a boot.

How do you know when a meerschaum carver needs a vacation?

On one hand, I wondered if he got tired of carving boots. On the other, they weren't one of his limited editions (some or most of which, I think, were chosen by the company), so maybe not something he was required to make.
