Putting out some more of the Byronic Slices now to dry. Will smoke during 2024 presidential election.
I haven't even been drinking and found this followup post to your original absolutely hilarious. On the topic... I agree with setting the entire pipe aside for a day or so in low humidy (AC) conditions and just trying again. If still no go right away then just dump it and in the future dry well in advance after rubbing it out etc...

I've had some bad bowlfuls here and there and while eliminating outliers moisture is the typical culprit. Usually I dump the bowl and pick a different tobacco, sometimes I even get a different pipe. The longer I smoke the more I truly appreciate the ready to smoke moisture content... to the point of I dont ever want to smoke stuff I have to dry out.

Vegas Baby!!!
If the tobacco is too wet set it aside and come back later.

Now if we’re talking actual worse smoking experience “tobacco blend” related, that’s easy.

S&G Firedance Flake. That stuff tastes like eating my own vomit after it’s been shit out from a dog eating it’s own vomit.

Worst experience was holiday blends in 2011. High end blends in fancy boxes that smelled like potpourri in the tin but acted like chemical warfare in the mouth. Then the aftertaste would lay in wait until bedtime when I brushed my teeth and the peppermint toothpaste hit my tongue and gums. EEEYOWWW! My remedy for this was to stick with non-aromatics for two years until my mouth regained its taste.
