Good afternoon,

We all have our star players... those expensive artisan pipes that really make a statement!
BUT, do any of you have a pipe or pipes that are really rough but you still smoke a lot? I thought it might be fun to share some
pics of your favorite beater pipe(s). Maybe they are your tackle box pipe or your car pipe.
Anyhow I was given these three GBD pipes in a group of about 40 estate pipes. I was going to trash them and save the stems but I thought, what the heck, its only my time. Among the problems were lots of cake...so much cake...rim charring and burning...rims that look like they have been chewed by a mouse...rims that were seriously out of round...and a resident spider.
Soooo, I reamed, cleaned, sanded them tue best I could.
You know, I smoke these three pipes CONSTANTLY! They are very lightweight and hang perfectly from my jaw so they are great for reading, yardwork and driving. I bet I have smoked 200+ bowls of tobacco out of these three pipes. Just goes to show you… Don't judge a book by its cover!
Now let's see those pictures of your beater pipes!IMG_1474.jpeg

Most of my collection have each been smoked a few thousand times and for the most part still look as if I'd just bought them. My artisan pipes are smoked just as much as any other and are always carried around in my shirt pocket when not smoking them.

Yes..mine as well. The point was that I was going to trash these pipes and they are now my work horses
