My sister and I went to see the first Bond film back in the sixties, with Sean Connery of course. It was action-packed and funny in a tart witty way, and on our way out of the theater, my fifteen year old (or so) self said, "That's going to be a series of movies." Though I think the sequel was even pitched by a trailer at the end of the film, or a voice-over pitch. They made good on that.
