Ouch!

A veterinarian friend taught me a trick which might have worked in your case. First, cut off the two non-impaled hooks at the shank. Second, push the impaled hook's point out through the skin just past its barb. Third, cut off the point with barb. Fourth, back what's left of the hook through the original point of entry. Fifth, get a tetanus shot!

Oh. man, that to have hurt??You must have bled like a stuck hog!!
Actually it barely hurt. Felt more like pressure and a pinch. Crazy. I pushed in and backed it out as far as i could. Then told my son to put pressure above the entry and yanked. Made a really interesting “pop” when the barb pulled out. Only bled a little. Crazy it was a newer rapala and the hooks are razor sharp so that may have helpedIMG_8579.jpeg

Yep, all the fishing for all sorts of fish, it was fly fishing for browns that I finally got myself - hip deep in a cold little stream with lots of current - was out with a young guide in the Black Hills - he popped it right out and back to fishing. View attachment 238092View attachment 238094
I lived in Spearfish for 12 years before moving to Colorado. That landscape looks very familiar!

Ouch! Well, I've been there more times than I can count. Teach enough people to fish and it's going to happen.

I've always figured these are sacrifices to the fishing gods for such wonderful beauty all the other times.

North Georgia mountains.
Fly fishing broke my barb/treble habit. After going strictly to the fly rod, I never saw a reason for barbs or treble hooks again - especially after seeing these kind of accidents with them. So I did the same for my kids Rapala gear - swapped out trebles and pinched the barbs.
But dadgum that looks like it hurt. At least when the hook comes back out you can pinch barbs then back it out. That yank would have my stomach in knots
