Reminds me of when they wanted Willie to host the CMAs but he said he had joint problems. I've never know Willie to have a problem with joints.
It seems like any time Willie is mentioned it's mostly a reference to pot-smoking or how old he is, etc. It can be easy to forget how great a musician he is at his core, not to mention his talent for songwriting. I've always loved this piece from him:

If I live to be 90, I sure as hell hope people don't expect me to keep working. I saw him a few years ago in a very quaint show before the larger concert. It was maybe 50 of us that he was playing to, and I felt so bad for the guy. He could hardly breath, much less sing. I would imagine that setting through the larger concert would probably really try my nerves watching them make that old man stand out there and strain himself like that.
His only joint problem is when he doesn't have a joint.
