Will Cob Pipes Accept 9mm Filters?

Just wondering. I know they can usually take a paper filter, but can anyone tell me if they will accept a 9mm charcoal filter like Dr Perl Jr?

My MM Mark Twain will take a Savinelli 6mm charcoal but its a tight fit and draw.

I have not seen one. But I have see 6mm charcoal filters same style as 9mm.

Hmmm...as much as I love Mr. Brog, I would say that the article was more an ad for Mr. Brog filters than an actual test(Medico filters aren't even 9mm). I have a few MM pipes, and I don't see how they could have stuffed a 9mm filter in one.

I went to MM site and searched 9mm filter pipe and received this response :

"Couldn't find what you're looking for!"​

Also : " I used Swam Vesta matches to light each pipe when smoking, thus attempting to eliminate any outside variables that would have flawed this intensive, very professional, research study." That there is some real hard core science ! I suspect that's what I've been doing wrong !

6mm is tight (that’s what she said) but you can use balsa 6mm filters because they are softer And easier to get in, also TWSS.

Someone could make a stem extender that would accept a 9 mm filter and fit a cob, but I doubt it would be a big seller. The best market would be Europe where 9 mm filters are used a lot, but I'm not sure cobs are that big in Europe.

Nope. No cobs accept 9mm filters unless you heavily modify the shank and stem, but they do fit the various 6mm filters. Some of the stems you will need to run a Drexel grinding bit through the stem a little to make it a better fit.

I make custom cobs ....(when I get a bit of machine down time)....and have made a couple of 9mm filter ones. The problem is they take the same amount of time to make a nice acrylic stem and then a shank....for a pipe that sells for a lot less than a briar.

I really like Peterson Irish Oak.....sorry ..."Irish Cask" through a 9mm charcoal filter cob though...not to keen without the filter!

Edit: I have some 6mm charcoal filters.....but the draw is REALLY tight.
