Why The Heavy Use of Red VA In VaPers?

Will someone provide examples of popular red forward VaPers?

Two of my favorites are Sutliff Cringle Flake (2020) and WCC Rougaroux.

If anyone wants a Red Virginia with Perique they should try Two Friends Red Wood. It is a red virginia/perique blend and has been around a long time. It was made by GL Pease and Craig Taler from C&D.

The first one that comes to my mind as one that I’ve tried and definitely didn’t like was Louisiana Red from H&H. Far too much of a sharp vinegar-like tang for me. I’m sure there are plenty more out there but I’ve since been avoiding them.

I get what you are saying here and agree. As a straight red Va lover, it can clash with good Perique. I love ketchup and I love figs/plums, but I can't abide fig-ketchup.

I find the reds tend to tame some of the more obnoxious traits of perique. Although I'm not the biggest perique fan, i do enjoy a VaPer from time to time.

In my opinion red virginia makes for more full bodied and complex smoke. Bright leaf makes for a lighter more one dimension smoke. I love them both
