Why No Virginia Cube Cut Blends?

In my misspent youth I was introduced to cube cut. An excellent cut for new pipers, effectively eliminating the filling and packing the bowl trauma

Cube cut is generally left to the user. While I don't care for the cut much I have friend who cube cuts any kind of Virginia flake. He gravity feeds his pipe until it is loaded and then he puts a match to it. No tamping until later.
