You could tell by the production date on the tin labels. HU/Koop uses a code on the label for the tinning date. It goes like this A/A/A/Y and would be line 1 date 01.01.2025. Dan to my knowledge does not have a Code, but the tin of Hamborger Veermaster I opened yesterday had a label with 60625. This is the first time I have seen anything on a Dan tin.

Alot of the European options seem to be 50 gram tins of what we get in 100 gram tins. And honestly, the 100 gram tins are only about 6$ more over the 50's cost via estervals.

Boy am I glad I stocked up on LA Broken at 14.25$ a tin last year, I had a feeling that was an introductory price and that sale was time to pull the trigger. What a deal.
I was actually wondering this the other day when I was comparing the prices on smoking pipes. I haven’t had any Hu blends in years when ordering from Germany was easy peasy.

Because people will pay for it. Duh.. it's like many other blends that are popular for reviewing but average quality. It's value come from having it.

Bizarre to me as it's not even in my top three HU blends. I'd take Louisiana Broken Flake, Makhuwa, and Zulu over it any day. Not saying it isn't good; it just isn't worth a premium price IMO.
I think they can charge that much because it's a coin cut paper, with two kinds of ribbon. That is somehow called a flake.
Although a little looksie online has directors cut being heralded as a 95% accurate taste replacement for mac baren Stockton. So that is likely why it sells at 40 to 50$ per 100 gram tin.
