The muted flavor would be a problem for me. I am gradually getting back to some more mild tobacco in my rotation, including tobacco-forward aromatics, but I think pipes that characteristically mute the flavor would not be a draw for me. I do have a pipe friend who is urging me to get a Meerschaum, and not a modest one. I think one in a small-medium size, possibly smooth, would be all I would use. Don't make it through the whole stable often enough as it is.

I am just starting to collect pipes, up to seven now. I would like to add a meerschaum at some point.
