Why Did You Quit Drinking?

I had my appendix out at ten years old, I freaked the doctor out by grabbing his hand after he made the initial cut on me. They kept giving me more and more drugs, and they said that when I came out of it, I had decked two nurses and the doctor. The whole next day, the hospital employees just stood at the door to check on me, a little gun shy, I think. ::

I was an almost daily (albeit light) drinker for most of my 20s. 2 or 3 drinks a day and a bit more on the weekends.. loved my dark red wines, Belgian beers and local bourbon.

After falling into a bit of a rabbit hole with some heavier substances I lost the taste for alcohol. I've been clean (exceptions: caffeine and nicotine) for going on 3 years now. The taste hasn't really come back to me. I'll have the occasional beer or cocktail in social settings but I think my daily drinking days are over and I'm fine with that.
