Another of the million reasons why "Heavy metal will never die."
Motion Devise a family band from Toronto with an incredible 11 year old lead singer Sara. Not only do they have their own music but great covers from Dio, Sabbath, Ozzy, Floyd, Cooper, Zep, RUSH, Joplin and many more. They're recording, playing clubs and been on many TV shows. Here is their cover of Heaven and Hell by Ronnie James Dio and Black Sabbath.

I knew Ronnie fairly well over 25 years. First meeting him with Rainbow in 1976 I got to spend a few days, one or two times a year "having a good time" with him, and he smoked many of my Hemingway Signatures. I know he would be blown away. I can't wait to hear he voice when she's 16. Forever

Quite a singer for an 11 year old!
Dio was a great singer. As a long time Kansas fan, I’ll always remember Dio for the two amazing vocal performances he did on Kerry Livgren’s first solo album, Seeds of Change. Below is an interview with Dio and then Livgren regarding the project, and the 2 songs from the album.

Yeah Ronnie had a wild trip all the way back as a doo wop band "Ronnie and the Redcaps" back in the 60's. When he came to sing with Kerry they were finishing the biggest selling album in Sabbath history - Heaven and Hell. Here is him doing the song live in 1980. The song that Sara is singing in tribute is a little different than when Ronnie sings it. He adlibs a ton and added a whole part in the middle that's not on the studio album which Sara was following. WARNING: Heavy Rock and Roll!

She has a remarkable singing voice, and the band is VERY tight. It's interesting to listen to such a 'pure' voice against the background of heavy rock - but it does work. Her voice itself will probably not change much, but I wonder will she change her 'style' of singing as she matures within the band?
Makes me want to get out my old vinyls - Cream, King Crimson, Mott the Hoople, Mountain, Free, Black Sabbath.............................LOL

Flaky +5 on those albums! I still have a lot of vinyl from the 70's and 80's, about 400 in mint condition. Around a dozen half masters like Thriller, I Robot, Dark side of the moon, a Supertramp and others, going to have to dig deep in the attic for those crates. I looked on Ebay last year and vinyl albums are selling. Think I may sell mine, my Denon turntable bit the dust when we were changing over to CDs so never got it fixed...Maybe I should get it fixed and listen to the pounding again on vinyl instead of mp3 recordings. Could be awesome with the Bose surround sound I have now

My vinyls are still in a cupboard in my daughter's apartment, together with my Tecnics turntable with a Shure V15 mark 3 cartridge and stylus, my Cambridge amp and a pair of B&W DM3 speakers - the full works. Perfect for heavy rock. Cost me a bloody fortune when I was a junior doc.
Time to liberate them!!

Dragonslayer- You can convert a lot of that vinyl to mp3 before you sell it, I've done it for quite a few rare LP's that I have.
I always preferred the sound of vinyl...

She kinda sounds like Geddy Lee, in my opinion. Cool, though. I'm actually in a metal band so of course i loves me some metal.

Thanks for posting! I only met the man once as a teenager. Quite the nice fellow he was. RONNIE took the time to come over to our group of friend to have a sit down bs session with us. 30 years later he is still at the top of the list of singers/band members I got to bs with as a kid. (I had access teens dream about at concerts)

I like the six string bass and how the leads trade solos. Good to see young talent.

Curious terrygoldman123, do you happen to play electric guitar? I've always liked hard rock music but started to LOVE Metal and Scream-O when I learned how to play the guitar. I guess when I see these guys shred, I have a great appreciation for how hard it is to get that good and their amazing sound. Like Ghost said, theres something for everyone out there.

there is something for everyone. Variety is the spice of life.

Have to add my musical rotation is fairly well rounded, big fan of the Blues and Classical lover as well.

"Variety" ideed! Too many tasty tidbits in this life, just like tobac....I have a "go to" but many different

leaf to mix it up. Way to much out there to stay locked into one thing.

Awesome, love to see young talent keeping stuff alive. I wish I had the skills to play the bass myself. Anyone hear of Jacqueline Mannering, I think she is pretty awesome for a new unknown artist.
