I have a number of French made pipes, not a huge number.

A few are new, most are estates. The estates were relatively inexpensive.

They are well made pipes, commensurate with other brands made in other countries. I think the main reason they are not so popular or in demand in the US is that they were never marketed quite as aggressively as the other brands.

My French Dublin with a Cumberland stem arrived today, and I’m as happy as a kid under the Christmas tree after Santa came in the night.

It’s a brand new, unsmoked pipe.

All of the cheap brown varnish came off in minutes using steel wool.

It was coated with something in the bowl, to help with break in.

The first half bowl of Cherry Smoker’s Pride tastes as good as if this French pipe said Pipes by Lee on the side.:

It’s a real Cumberland stem, too, not plastic.

Such a deal, such a deal!
