Anyway, my Dad. He smoked cigs like a chimney until they took one of his lungs out. We never had any great conversations, and maybe a pipe would have helped.

@Milverton1868 Groucho Marx did smoke a pipe! His son stole a couple of dunhills and took them to war, Groucho sent a letter telling him off, but added a few tins of good tobacco so at least the pipes would not be ghosted by inferior leaf. I will find back my 'Letters from Groucho' book for the details if you like, it is a fun read.

trust me it's just appreciation. He's the kind of curmudgeon I aspire to be more like someday.
The first real conversation I had with my father was as I was about to pull out of the driveway on the way to grad school.
We didn't really have an opportunity for more real conversations as cancer took him about 5 years later. He never got to see me succeed in my choosen profession and we never really saw eye to eye.
I miss him almost every day.
My Grandpa Joe. Never got to meet him, but my mother was amazing and I'd like to thank him for raising her right over a bowl of Plum Pudding.
I'd say Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. To think of all the sex, drug and Rock'n Roll stories he would share. Plus, he was an avid WWII collector, so looking over his collection of WWII memorabilia would be awesome.
