Oh hell yeah. One of my favorite historical theories is that his ambition was primarily driven by keeping the various faction of Mongolians together and focused outside instead of fighting with each other. No idea if there is any truth to it but I like it and thinking about it. Also of course you know how many people are descendant from him specifically in our times.
So, according to the book, Genghis Khan and the making of the modern world ~ Jack Weatherford, that’s exactly what was going on.

He deliberately sought out expansion as a way of eliminating the tribal raiding that was so prevalent.

After his death, his sons essentially fought each other for power.

After the sons death, which was only fourteen years after Genghis’s death, the grandsons got the Empire back on track.

The Empire grew until their magnificent trade systems help usher in the Bubonic Plague and its spread from China.

I’ve always wanted to initiate Brigitte Bardot, Selma Hayek, Elizabeth Taylor, and Sofia Loren.

Oh wait, you are talking about smoking? I mean, those ladies are smokin’ already.
The first type of initiation's "good until date" has long passed as I am sure you know.

What's the difference between Liz Taylor and a rooster?

Anyway, my Dad. He smoked cigs like a chimney until they took one of his lungs out. We never had any great conversations, and maybe a pipe would have helped.
The first real conversation I had with my father was as I was about to pull out of the driveway on the way to grad school.

We didn't really have an opportunity for more real conversations as cancer took him about 5 years later. He never got to see me succeed in my choosen profession and we never really saw eye to eye.

I miss him almost every day.

Mine would have to be Bruce Lee. His body was unable to properly process alcohol, so he took up reefer like a madman. Not looking to share his joints, he rolled one for everybody. If he ever sampled a pipe or a cigar, however, it went unrecorded as far as I'm aware.
