I have read that anecdote in several books.
I am certain that it's present in Tobacco by Iain Gately.
Whether he said it or not, Victoria was decidedly an anti and Edward was a lover of fine tobacco so there is definitely truth in the story.

I am surprised as hell that you can't find Captain Black. CBW is most likely the best selling pipe tobacco in the entire world; it is probably the only option in many countries. Honestly, though, if you can get RLP-6 from a tobacconist or etailer it is almost exactly the same thing. If you get really curious, though, 4noggins sells CBW by the tub or by 2oz sample...
As for the fight to the death,
I pick Prince Albert.
(I also prefer the more restrained taste of PA alongside CB or any full-on aromatics)
Please, though, just DO NOT claim that Prince Albert is a straight burley. It is no such thing.
If there is no VA in there I am a monkey's uncle. And the chocolatey topping is obvious from across the room...
(I know that all burleys have some kind of flavouring added, but this has quite a bit more)

Prince Albert's coach was Lil' Lord Fauntleroy, but Captain Black is a candy ass.

Round two: Prince comes out swinging with chemical burn. Has the Captain on the ropes.
Round three: Captain sticks to the plan. That PG is good for decades- easily makes it to round three. Prince covered in goop. Immobile. Taps out in final 30 seconds.
Captain wins by submission.
