After watching the excellent Mick Fleetwood And Friends DVD where Mick is joined by many artists from the rock music scene to play tunes by Fleetwood Mac's founder Peter Green.

There are about 20 musicians from around the world appearing on stage, some for just one song, some for several.

This got me wondering about who would be in my own band if I could make one up from living musicians. After much thought, here is what I came up with based upon my opinions of them as musicians with their particular instrument.....

Lead guitar: Joe Bonamassa (Self)
Rhythm guitar: Keith Richards (Rolling Stones)
Bass: Tommy Shannon (SRV & Double Trouble)
Drums: Mick Fleetwood (Fleetwood Mac)
Keyboards: Gregg Rollie (Santana & Journey)
Vocals: Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin)

So guys, who would be in your rock/blues supergroup?

Jay.

Never heard of any of those, have you just made those names up? ;)

Jay.
No, but it is a mishmash of musical genres. Roy Clark was a virtuoso of the strings that was a regular on HeeHaw. But, he could tear it up.
Sam Bush is a modern bluegrass artist who plays the mandolin in new and creative ways.
Bela Fleck... I was torn between a few other banjo players. I don't really listen to Bela Fleck's music as a pasttime, but I do recognize that he is a very different sort of banjo player. He has some skills.
Popper was Blue Traveler's front man. Again, I am not the biggest fan of their music, but I recognize a badass musician when I hear them. And, he is an excellent harp man.
Flea, from Rd Hot Chili Peppers would add a different dynamic to the group, breaking the backbone of the beat into fury.
While Pocaro was as much the mastermind behind his group, Toto, as Bonham was for Led Zeppelin.

John McRea was the lead for Cake, who had this driving use of incantation pushing his lyrics into a heart palpitating sort of story telling that I recognize as being very unique.
And, with Todd Snyder, singer songwriter, who was the wordsmith behind a lot of great songs of the 90's through the 10's, can spin a story like no other, fusing humor with plot shifts like a genius.

Ehhh, it might be a mess, but it would be interesting. puffy

I have an idea for the greatest supergroup ever. Now hear me out...
Guitar & Lead Vocals: Bob Dylan
Guitar & Lead Vocals: Tom Petty
Guitar & Lead Vocals: George Harrison
Guitar & Lead Vocals: Roy Orbison
Guitar & Lead Vocals: Jeff Lynn

Wild to consider those legends travelling around together without bass and drums, but I think it could work. Maybe.

There would definitely be a lot of nasal harmonization in that group. H aha.

What would you name the band? :ROFLMAO:

Oo, great idea for a thread!

Lead guitar: Jimi Hendrix
Rhythm guitar: The Edge (U2)
Bass: Adam Clayton (U2)
Drums: Larry Mullen Jr. (U2)
Banjo: Bela Fleck (Flecktones)
Keyboards: Stevie Wonder
Vocals: Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries)

If only I had a few more guitar spots for Prince and Dave Matthews
I can just see the look on little Stevie Wonder's face when he see's Jimi sliding across the stage with his guitar on fire, h aha. puffy
