Purchased this pipe many years ago from a little shop in Lawrence, KS called the Town Crier. The marking on the pipe is "Town Crier Original - Hand Carved in Denmark" It looks a lot like a Preben Holm - Benwade I have seen but can't find anything out about it.

Hi John. Do you live in Lawrence? Just curious I've got a ton of family there.

A newspaper advertisement in the Lawrence (KS) Journal-World, December 10, 1973, urged both novices and collectors to visit Town Crier and to come see the "$5,000 Preben Holm masterpiece."
Damn Roth! Great piece of investigation! Where on earth did you dig that up?
I found a grand opening ad for Town Crier and they were giving away 3 Savinelli pipes!

John, I'd say almost certainly it's a Preben Holm, the quality of the sandblast alone points me there as well as the distinctive stem and also "hand carved" was stamped on many Harcourt (made for Dunhill) pipes, not many of the Danish pipes outside of the artisan variety have a "hand carved in Denmark" stamp...
