Tom Colwell and I were special friends and I miss his company very much. He was an incredibly talented man and dedicated his life to collecting and categorizing pipes and their history. We had many days of conversation concerning some obscure makers and qualities of pipes. I will treasure my copy of "Who Made that Pipe" always and use it constantly for reference material. Tom also added some blank pages for new items to be added into the book for additional reference. It was originally a printed spiral bound book and maybe not of the finest quality but it is the contents and the memories of Tom that makes it valuable to me.

I'm hoping our worthy moderators won't knock the dottle

out of me for practicing a bit of shameless self promotion,

but since my name, and that of my great uncle, are mentioned

in this thread, I didn't think it would hurt to mention

that I have copies of WMTP available on eBay, and at a discount

if eBay is bypassed. All of my copies are new old stock,

inherited, as mentioned up yonder, unbound, and I've had them

punched and comb bound (similar to spiral bound).
I've tried to be fair with pricing, and am saving the proceeds

towards an eventual printing of an updated, much expanded,

edition of this great research tool. For collectors who can't

afford my price, patience goes a long way -- I've seen used copies

sell for as little as $8.00 on rare occasions on eBay;

but on the other hand, as I type this message there's a used

copy with what appears to be a stained cover that has already been

bid up to about $35 including shipping -- so my price for a new

copy isn't too far out of line, I feel.
Many thanks to those of you who've bought WMTP from me in the past.

Your patronage is what keeps me digging through mountains of research

material -- in eleven languages thus far -- while gathering data

for WMTP II. Some of the ideas mentioned earlier in this thread,

such as dates of production, I plan to add when possible

in the new edition, as well as several other data categories.
Feel free to message me with any questions or suggestions.
Best --
