I think this is a ship that sailed without me. However, when I lived in a tenement like apartment in college, on warm summer nights, I'd sit out on the farscape and drink a beer to catch the breeze.
I suspect this chic when properly ran thru the shower would be mighty hot stuff!!
I should add: Now I can stop wondering why everyone is posting aliens on a cartoon threadOh, I hadn’t caught the differences in the two words. I guess when I saw the first part (‘far’) of the word my mind just assumed the last (‘side’) part of the word and didn’t really read the word carefully or I would have not made the mistake. Thanks for catching that.
Farscape has puppets. I liked that Firefly movie. I was kind of wondering why it was so final. I don’t want to spoil it.Farscape is one of those sci-fi shows I've been aware of for a long time, but haven't really sought out. If I do watch it, will it give me the same kind of heartbreak as Firefly when it, too, was cancelled before it could be wrapped up?
True about the puppets as the show was produced by Jim Henson. Actually that would make Rygal and Pilot Muppets in Space.Farscape has puppets. I liked that Firefly movie. I was kind of wondering why it was so final. I don’t want to spoil it.

Well, I am only on the beginning of season 3 and have no clue how the show ends up but each season has like 22 episodes so plenty of viewing before one can get frustrated about a crappy or non-ending. To best honest, I tried to get into Firefly a year or so ago, paid for a handful of episodes but found it a bit one dimensional or something. Maybe I need to give it some more time.
Funny think, I saw the original Matrix for the very first time last year and actually enjoyed it...The thing about Firefly is that so many things that were novel about it were quickly adopted by other shows, so if you're coming into it late, it might not seem as exceptional. Sort of like watching the first "Matrix" movie after 2000 or so. It might also depend on which order you watch the episodes in. Fox scrambled the order they were originally shown in, among other sins.
I had to look it up again since it's been a little while since I've last watched the show, but I don't think FTL travel was even a part of the Firefly universe. They tried to keep things somewhat plausible, and even the existence of extra-terrestrials is left to speculation. I gave them points for keeping things quiet in the space shots, too.Funny think, I saw the original Matrix for the very first time last year and actually enjoyed it...
Not sure what about Firefly didn't capture my attention... it's not as if I didn't like it but didn't get hooked in the way that I did with DS9, BSG, and Farscape, all of which I just started watching in the last few years.
It's amusing how these shows try to think of a new word or phrase for "warp speed" type technology...such as "jump" and "starburst". Did Firefly have such a thing? I can't even recall...
True. I meant Jim Henson StudiosWell, he was dead by then but his son and Henson Studios...
I suppose each show "needs" its own jargon to show that they're not creatively lazy. It does give fans something unique to use in their communities. The jargon in Firefly can be especially love-or-hate!

Whew! I'm definitely on board now.Not quite - Farscape got four full seasons before it was canned, but they then did a 2 part (3 hour total) made for TV movie which wraps it all up, and in a satisfying way. I'd suggesting watching it all, it's a great show and definatley won't leave you with TV Blue Balls like Firefly.
