Who Finger Tamps ?

I picked up the same habit as Lawrence, an economy of motion if you will (a polite way of saying I'm a tad lazy..)

Everyone once in a while, I get reminded that tobacco is indeed a combustible.....

I am very forgetful so I use the "Digi-Tamp"(lol btw) quite often in the John, living room, and bedroom...

I use the tamper to load mostly on baccy I'm not used to and MOST of the time I use a tamper while smoking. For my normal baccies I stuff and puff then use a nail to tamp. A real nail mind you, not some fancy thing out of a catalog!

I just use my finger to load a pipe then tamper after that if needed

I always use tamper to tamp. Occasionally use finger. When packing, I use fingers.

I was always a bit of a "finger tamper" as a finger is always "on hand" as it were! However, I recently changed and try and use a tamper all the time now. The other evening, I absent mindedly tamped with my finger and a bit of lit tobacco stuck to my finger. As I removed my hand, the lit bit of baccy fell, landing on the soft skin between my index and middle finger! ouch!! Tamper for me from now on!

This is a new one on me, but I guess I'm gonna have to man up and give it a try.
Never have liked my tamper much, anyway.

I only finger tamp when I can't find my tamper. It's not that bad but I'd rather use a tamper...just personal preference.

I used to use my finger at times, but now only use a tamper. The one in the ashtray, or on the lighter itself. Reason being, I was once setting in my car outside a restaurant waiting to meet a lady for a first date. I was setting smoking my pipe when she pulled up. We said our hellos and all and went in the restaurant. She kept looking at me strangely and finally said " what is that all over your face"? Yep, I had been using my finger to tamp with, and must have scratched my nose. Great impression, no? lol.
