I recently purchased a lot of pipes from an auction. There are a few that have been partially or completely filled with a white material, hard to the touch. They are all older and vary in condition and style. Any idea what the white stuff is?

Is there even a draft hole??? It almost looks like someone put plaster in it to turn them into decorative paper weights.
No draft hole, but they were pipes that are used and don't appear to have visible damageIs there even a draft hole??? It almost looks like someone put plaster in it to turn them into decorative paper weights.
Does it break apart at all if you scrape at it?
I haven't tried to hard to scrape or remove but just trying to scratch it doesn't do anythingIs there even a draft hole??? It almost looks like someone put plaster in it to turn them into decorative paper weights.
