Well, I ordered a new White Elephant pipe to see what they are all about. Haven't read anything negative about them. For that matter, I've read very little about then at all!
I liked the shape, length, thick walls and the weight. Looking forward to giving her a workout with a bowl of something like Red Rapparee or Father Dempsey!

So, the new White Elephant pipe from SP has arrived. Very well packed as usual, comes in a nice box with a logo cloth pipe bag. Pretty impressive for a rather modestly priced pipe. The fit and finish are excellent, both inside and out, with the chamber coated - just right for me. The finish is not quite solid black, but dark with hints of deep expresso coming through and quite tactile in hand. I particularly like the bevel on the light colored, polished rim. This Tomato Passes a pipe cleaner easily and the airflow with a filter is quite good. I will get a 9mm adapter shortly.
Someone noted that they are small pipes - not at all. Size of this one is robust; approx. 6.5" in length and 2oz in weight. Precisely what I was looking for. I will be adding more of these to my collection without a doubt. This is a very comfortable smoking pipe and has unseated one of my beloved Petersons to take a seat in the rotation.
